Orientation Classes (School Years 5 and 6)
Profile
The school years 5 and 6 (these are the Orientation Classes 1 and 2) at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden put their focus on a fine arts profile and dance. They prepare the path to a secondary school diploma and for admittance into the Young Talents Programme.
The dance training is carried out parallel to the secondary school education at the integrated Secondary School. Dance training in the orientation classes 1 and 2 currently comprises 14 units of instruction a week, each 45 minutes long (10 units of ballet, three units of dance/technique/improvisation, and one unit of folk dance).
A class teacher from the dance department is named for the supervision of the artistic-practical education. The pupils are integrated early on into the artistic life at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden. It is important for us to offer the students the opportunity to perform from the very first year, so that they can gain stage experience as early as possible, e.g. in ?The Nutcracker“ in the world-famous Semperoper Dresden as well during the annual student workshop and on Open Door Day.
